| Jamie Schumacher and the folks at Altered Esthetics Gallery put their money where their ART is. A portion of all exhibit sales is dedicated to charitable causes. Located in a funky warehouse in the NE Minneapolis Arts District, they create life-castings and special effects. Their frequent group shows are focused on themes like "Animal Art," "The Art of Tragedy," and "Commie Pinkos." Lauri is a resident artist, having participated in most of their shows. Art-A-Whirl is the signature event of the NorthEast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA.) Every third weekend in May, hundreds of artists open their studios and galleries to the public. Visitors whirl through the neighborhood, feasting on art, music, food and drink. www.nemaa.org

No words can describe their costumed extravaganza of organ notes, but their motto "30 Songs in 30 Minutes" is a start. | Jazz vocalist and pianist Teri Roiger has come a long way since her high school days as Lauri's pal. Teri was a church organist then, and used to sneak into the sanctuary to play "The Grind" for her rock-n-roll pals. Lauri's former student, Russell Barslou, is the sweetest and sexiest drag queen you'll ever find! Actually, he's more than a drag queen---he's an artist of illusion who performs high-energy dance extravaganzas. Russell, a.k.a. | During one of her annual winter escapes, Lauri discovered the perfect paradise for people and pets in the Florida Keys. Yellowtail Inn and Bonefish Resort are small, quaint sister resorts on Grassy Key near Marathon. While there in the winter of 2005 she created the "Eight Days In Paradise" oil painting series, which depicted the breathtaking beauty. When she finished the series, owner Robert Moir offered to display and sell the originals, prints and postcards. | Jon O. Erikson is a "jack of all trades, master of MANY!" What a whirlwind he is, and what talent. Former prop wizard of the Guthrie Theatre, exhibit designer at the Science Museum and current owner of Dramatic Environments, Jon can actually execute all his zany ideas.
