WHO IS LAURI SVEDBERG?
Lauri is an artist in Nordeast Minneapolis. She is versed in many media, but prefers oil painting. Her customary style evokes Edward Hopper and Rene Magritte---realism with a twist---but other styles periodically pop from her palette.

WHAT IS SVEDBERG STUDIO?
A two-story hexagon attached to Lauri's home, where she creates and exhibits her artwork. A local landmark, the structure has been featured on Home and Garden Television, FOX 9 Morning News and WCCO TV; in the Minneapolis StarTribune, Mpls/StPaul Magazine, the Pioneer Press, City Pages, Pulse of the Twin Cities, The Rake Magazine, NorthEaster News and L'Etoile Magazine. The site formerly housed FUNKtionall ART GALLERY & STUDIO (1998-2006.) City zoning codes forced Lauri to convert from a gallery to a private studio, but she still welcomes visitors!

WHERE IS SVEDBERG STUDIO?
It's one block east of Central Avenue on the corner of 34th and Tyler in the "Upper NE Art Zone" of Minneapolis (across from Columbia Golf Course and around the corner from Columbia Grounds Coffee Shop.) FROM DOWNTOWN: Cross the river on the 3rd Ave Bridge or Hennepin Bridge. Head north on Central Avenue to 34th, turn right and go one block. FROM THE NORTH or EAST: Take Highway 10 or I-694 to Central Avenue or Highway 65 which becomes Central Avenue. Head south to the stoplight on 35th. Turn left, go one block, turn right, go one block. FROM THE SOUTH or WEST: Take I-35W past downtown to the Johnson Street exit (by the Quarry Shopping Center.) Go north on Johnson Street to 34th Avenue. Turn left and go 6 blocks.

WHEN IS SVEDBERG STUDIO OPEN?
Because the studio is part of Lauri's residence, visitors are welcome whenever she is home. Afternoons from 12:00-6:00 on any day of the week are the best times to visit. If you're driving by, don't be shy---feel free to stop in. The studio is also open for special shows and events throughout the year.
